In order to properly identify all signers, the Notary must see an acceptable form of identification from all of the signers.

Passport, drivers license, state issued identification cards, employee identification issued by an agency or office of the State of California, US Military ID card, inmate identification card, etc. All acceptable primary forms of identification must have the following:

 

  • Physical Description
  • Issue Date/Expiratio Date
  • Photo
  • Signature & Serial Number

 

Unacceptable Identification If it doesn't have your picture on it, it cannot be used as the primary form of identification for notarial services. There are no exceptions. If for some reason you do not have identification from a government agency, please give us a call at 1-888-801-6050. We may be able to have you sign with credible witnesses. Here is a short list of unacceptable identifications:

  • Social Security Card
  • Birth Certificate
  • School ID Card
  • Credit Cards
  • Employment ID Cards from a non government employer
